Development of Farmer Terms of Trade of Riau Province in February 2025

Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
Riau Province's NTP in February 2025 was recorded at 191.47, or down 0.33 percent compared to January 2025 of 192.11. This increase in NTP was due to a decrease in the Price Index Received (It) by farmers by 0.32 percent, while the Price Index Paid (Ib) by farmers only increased by 0.02 percent.
In February 2025, 3 out of 10 provinces on the island of Sumatra experienced a decrease in the Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP). Riau became the province that experienced the second deepest decrease in NTP in Sumatra, which was 0.33 percent. The province that experienced the deepest decrease in NTP on the island of Sumatra was West Sumatra with a decrease in NTP of 2.79 percent.
In February 2025, there was a decrease in the agricultural household consumption price index (IKRT) in Riau Province by 0.01 percent. This decrease was caused by the price index of goods and services in the housing, water, electricity, and other fuel groups which decreased by 6.12 percent.
The Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) of Riau Province decreased by 0.39 percent, namely from 185.61 in January 2025 to 184.89 in February 2025. This decrease was caused by a decrease in the Received Price Index (It) by 0.32 percent, while the BPPBM Index increased by 0.07 percent.
